laid back reggae - I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF MAXI PRIEST, BUT SOMEHOW I MISSED THIS ONE WHEN IT WAS RELEASED. IT S GREAT CD TO CHILL AND JUST LISTEN TO SOME GREAT ISLAND BEATS AND SONGS.I LOVE THIS ONE.

Roots, Rockin Reggae with Maxi - This is the very first cd/album that was introduced to me by Maxi and from that day on, I have loved his music. He has been a great influence in the reason why I love Reggae Music so much. Some people have critized him and tried to say that he has left his reggae roots for the pop life, but I don t think he has. He just can t be pigeoned holed into one catagory of music. Ya gotta give the man credit for being able to carry both titles in the music industry, a feat not too many artist can do. Maxi has enjoyed commercial success in many countries and also one of the few reggae artist to enjoy a number one hit in america.Maxi s vesatility has allowed him to collaberate with some of the music industries best, with the likes of R&B legend, Roberta Flack, Lisa Fisher, Jazz Artists, Paul Taylor & Lee Reitnour, Reggae Super Stars, Shabba Ranks, Michael Ross and the late great Dennis Brown. And I m quite sure there are many more that I haven t mentioned. This cd has to be one of my all time favorites by him. The cd is filled with plenty of roots and lover s rock music and I would recommend this cd to any Maxi Priest fan. With cut s like the concious, Cry Me A River, the smooth lover s rock cuts, Let Me Know, Woman In You and the rub-a-dub concious tune, Must Be A Way Some How, makes this cd a classic.Buy it, Listen to it, and Share the music of a very talent Reggae Artist. One Luv

RIVER OF SOULFULL REAGGE - I used to listne Maxi 80 s releases, when I was in college in the early 90 s. I moved around a lot since and my cd collections got moved around and most of them dissapeared in the procces. I just stambled on this cd agian it sounds as soothing and soulfull as those days. I wonder how this cd never got the recognitions it surely deserves. Never mind the commercial successe.

better than expected - i was never a big fan of Maxi Priest, so i was pleasantly surprised when one of my good friends told me to give it a listen.it reminded me alot of the late great Dennis Brown. so if your a fan of Dennis Brown, when he was into his smooth ballads groove you will surely be able to get into this cd.
