Unfortunately, Less Than His Best - Uninspired - I ve always been able to connect with the deep feeling expressed in Maxi Priest s music . . . that is until now. This CD lacks the underlying rythum and soul of reggae that Maxi is capable of blending into his music. Until this release, Maxi has consistently been able to capture at least one or two songs per CD that have an exceptionally soft but driving raggae background accompanied by superb vocal delivery and melodic arrangement. If Maxi sang to me in the late 1980s, like he does in this CD, I wouldn t have 5 of his releases in my library. Maxi can do far better than this. He is a great talent, the potential of which is not reflected in this CD.I ranked this 3 stars, not compared to his previous material or what he is capable of but, compared to other artists. If I compared the music in this CD to Maxi Priest s potential shown in previous releases it would be a 1 star performance.
Words Can t Explain This Album! - I met him 2 days ago and bought his album 2 days ago and when i heard his songs for the 1st time i was out of my mind. He is wonderful and i m telling everyone go and buy it.The best songs are So what if rains,The One and What a women neeeds! His music reminds me of bob marley with a mixture of r&b like joe or usher also i think its time to change our styles to real music rather tahn britney spears or cher.Let s listen music which has meanings, love and passion inside it. Thanx Maxi for this great album
Combination - I just purchased this album, and I must say that I really think that it is great. I have alot of other Maxi Priest albums. I am a huge fan of his, and have been for a very long time. I am a West-Indian/American from St. Maarten, Netherlands Antillies living in New York. So I am very much familiar with Maxi, he has even been there to perform, and we love his music there. I rate this album a perfect 10. My favorite song(s) on the album is Golden Lady & The One, I also love Mary s Got a Baby, She Wants to Dance. Eventhough, I give this a very good rating for its style and content. Nothing can beat Bonafide & The Best of Maxi. I would recommend the fans to purchase this album and support our star Maxi. Keep up the good work Maxi. I love you!
I cannot rate this CD (Yet) See below - This is just to let anyone who may be interested know that my Birthday is November 27 and this CD is all that I want. Come on, make a stranger happy. The joy will return to you tenfold.
True example of how artist sell-out thier soul! - Maxi could have left a huge foot print on the walk of Reagge music if he could only remember his roots instead of what is hot on the market. Maxi remember what put you on the map remmber Bonifide, Intantions and the CD Maxi. In the eyes of your true funs like my self you re selling out.
